Description
M109A7 Self-Propelled Howitzer (SPH) Request for Information (RFI) 1. Market Survey Request. This Request for Information is being issued to find a Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) Vaneaxial Fan replacing the current design for the M109A7 P/N: 12268575, meeting the dimensional and performance requirements indicated in this RFI. This effort will be to find a potential source(s) from the respondents who are capable of supplying vaneaxial fans. All RFI responses shall answer the questionnaire found in Section 5. Respondents with submissions that are determined to be adequate may be requested to provide fans to undergo qualification testing at the Governments expense for possible qualification for future procurements. This effort is not a proof of design or development test effort. The vendors will be contacted within one month of the end date of this market survey. The vaneaxial fan design shall provide at a minimum the following: Dissimilar parts shall not be used in intimate contact with each other. Dissimilar materials are defined in MIL-STD-889D, 21 July 2021. The fan shall operate from a nominal supply voltage of +28 VDC, meeting MIL-STD-1275E, 22 March 2013. The fan shall be capable of continuous normal operation from a supply voltage ranging +20 VDC to +30 VDC. For normal operation, the volumetric flow produced by the fan (assumed air density .075 pound per cubic foot) shall be at least 900 cubic feet per minute at atmospheric pressure 1 0.1 inches of water and at least 600 cubic feet per minute at atmospheric pressure 9 0.1 inches of water. The fan shall be capable of normal operation in a horizontal orientation. The fan shall be capable of normal operation in ambient temperatures ranging from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to +120 degrees Fahrenheit. The fan shall be capable of normal operation and shall not sustain damage after storage in temperatures ranging from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to +160 degrees Fahrenheit. The fan shall be capable of normal operation in ambient relative humidity ranging from 3 percent to 100 percent without sustaining damage. The fan shall be capable of normal operation and shall not sustain damage after storage in humid environments of relative humidity of not less than 14 percent to not greater than 80 percent. The fan shall operate in a salt-laden atmosphere without sustaining damage as described in MIL-STD-810H, Method 509.7, 31 January 2019 The fan shall meet requirements for Army Ground Vehicles in MIL-STD-461G, 11 December 2015. The fan shall have an intake inner diameter of 6.0 0.5 inches. The fan shall have an outlet inner diameter of 6. 0 0.5 inches. The overall length of the fan housing shall not exceed 10.0 inches. Fan noise in normal operation shall be less than 85 decibels A-weighted. The fan shall permit maintenance using common tools. All parts having the same manufacturers part number shall be functionally and dimensionally interchangeable. 2. Proprietary Information. The United States Government (USG) acknowledges its statutory obligation (18 U.S.C. 1905) to protect confidential information provided to the Government. Pursuant to this statute, the USG is willing to accept any trade secrets or proprietary restrictions placed upon data presented in response to this survey and to protect such information from unauthorized disclosure, subject to the following: Data must be clearly marked PROPRIETARY and be accompanied by an explanatory text so that the Government is clearly notified of any limitations being placed on the data.
