Page 2 of 2 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build VISN 12 Renovation remodel of the existing Nuclear Medicine Suite, including a new second floor addition for Nuclear Medicine at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. Location is at 820 South Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60612. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Contractor must provide all tools, materials, components, labor, and supervision for construction and remodeling existing space for a fully functional renovation remodel of the existing Nuclear Medicine Suite, including a new second floor addition for Nuclear Medicine at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. The goal of this project is to expand the existing Nuclear Medicine clinic without interrupting patient treatment in the clinic. Construction activities must not disrupt patient treatment. Existing Nuclear Medicine clinic will remain in operations during the construction period of performance. This project will also include asbestos abatement. However, the air quality monitoring during the asbestos work will be provided by the VA. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Invitation for Bid (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 14, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5 million. The solicitation will be issued around early May 2022. The period of performance is 560 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to: Melissa.Waddell@va.gov.
