CONTINUATION PAGE Amendment 0002 Clarification The following Request for Information (RFI) questions have been submitted to the Contracting Officer regarding this solicitation. The questions and responses represent all questions submitted to the Contracting Officer prior to the deadline established in the Solicitation. The following clarification is hereby being provided regarding the solicitation for bidder s information and use. RFI 1. What metal is to be used in the valley's, drip edge, and other flashing? (SEE WHAT IT SAYS IN THE SPEC'S) Stainless Steel: ASTM A167, Type 302B, dead soft temper. Copper ASTM B370, cold-rolled temper. Bituminous Coated Copper: Minimum copper ASTM B370, weight not less than 1 kg/m² (3 oz/sf); bituminous coating weight not less than 2 kg/m² (6 oz/sf); or copper sheets may be bonded between two layers of coarsely woven bitumen-saturated cotton fabric ASTM D173. Provide crimped exposed fabric surface. Polyethylene Coated Copper: Copper sheet ASTM B370, weighing 1 Kg/m² (3 oz/sf) bonded between two layers of (two mil) thick polyethylene sheet. Aluminum Sheet: ASTM B209, Alloy 3003-H14 Galvanized Sheet: ASTM A653. There are several options? Response: Per the Statement of Work and the attached original roof plan, The intent is to replace all the roofing components being removed with the same product type (material, thickness, color, dimensions, etc.). The original roof plan and the Statement of Work call for the Valley s, drip edge and other flashing to be copper (16 oz). Interested bidders should perform a site visit to get a first hands view to identify specifically which type of copper exists. The intent is to put back whatever is there. RFI 2. For the base decking coverage do you want a 15# felt, 30# felt, synthetic felt, or an Ice and water shield, or a combination of? Response: Per the Statement of Work, under I. SCOPE, 1. a. ice and water dam membrane, ice and water shield, one layer of 30# felt... RFI 3. Do you want to mimic all flashing details as what is shown on Drawing A-10 and A-11? Response: See RFI #1 response regarding the intent. However, if an interested Roofing Contractor/bidder has determined that this is not appropriate in their opinion, the respective interested Roofing Contractor/bidder should appropriate suggestion/recommendations. RFI 4. Once the barn is demo d, will Contractor be responsible for rock removal, backfill, topsoil and seed & straw. Response: Yes, Contractor shall follow all the guidance provided in the solicitation, and specifically as it relates to the above question, Statement of Work - under I. Scope (sod, not seed), and XV. General #3 Disposal and Retention in their entirety. END OF AMENDMENT 0002
