- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE 36C24922Q0242 On behalf of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 9 is issuing this Intent to Sole Source. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) AND NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a Firm Fixed Price award to a single source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, to Belei s Mechanical. The James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN has a need to refurbish six (6) existing vertical lifts that are used in the on-site laundry facility to transport linens between processing stations. The original equipment is a custom installation using Gardner Machinery Corp. lifts and rails. The prospective contractor shall provide full-service refurbishment on the six (6) Gardner Machinery Corp. vertical lifts installed in building 205 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, 809 Lamont St & Veterans Way, Mountain Home, Tennessee, 371604. NCO 9 intends to award this requirement as a sole source purchase order under the provision of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 to Belei s Mechanical. Based on market research, the required service can only be purchased from Belei s Mechanical. According to the current manufacturer, Gardner Machinery Corp., these are Proprietary Source Product supported solely by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Gardner Machinery. Therefore, the sole source award to Belei s Mechanical is in the best interest of the government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 811310 with the size standard of 1250 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotes. Any vendor who believes it can meet the requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which will be considered only if received by March 21, 2022 at 10:00 am CDT. Responses to this posting must be in writing and submitted to loren.love@va.gov. A determination not to compete the proposed order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
