The Bourne & Sagamore bridges both have areas of deterioration in the concrete decks over the abutments that need to be repaired. The deck within the abutment spans is 9"" thick reinforced concrete. The wearing surface is approximately 2"" thick bituminous concrete (Rosphalt[BEECUC(1]). In addition to the deteriorated concrete deck surfaces, the existing manholes along the bridge have also deteriorated and need significant repair. The work of this project will mainly consist of removal of the existing pavement down to the concrete deck and necessary repairs to the underlying concrete as needed. Interested firms should note that they will need to take care in removing the existing concrete so as to not damage the rebar. The extent of repair work required for the manholes is still under review. Work must be performed in thirds across the width of the bridge, requiring three phases of construction. Extensive traffic control procedures will be necessary and will require coordination with Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Two work periods will likely be specified: Spring of 2023 and Fall of 2023. For reference, in 2000 a contract was awarded to replace the concrete parapets, repair sidewalk and curbs, replace waterproofing membrane and bituminous wearing surface on deck and abutments and other miscellaneous electrical work. Additionally, in 2010 a contract was awarded to rehabilitate the concrete deck. In this contract the work included removing the existing asphalt pavement and waterproofing membrane on both abutments and the steel superstructure deck. It also included repairs to the concrete substrate on the abutments as well as repaving the entire length of the bridge with Rosphalt. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, small business, etc.), as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work components stated above. Please include at least two specific examples of the firms experience performing the work requirements stated above. The projects must have been performed within the last seven years. Please indicate the team subcontractor(s) (if any), including their prior experience and qualifications, which will be used to support the offerors effort and their experience must also have been performed within the last seven years. Proof of bonding capability is required. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Responses are due by April 05, 2022. Responses should be emailed to: Sara.J.Torres@usace.army.mil Interested firms shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice. Government Agency URL: www.nae.usace.army.mil Government Agency URL Description: New England District, Corps of Engineers
