Description
EAR069 Demolition Dormitory Buildings 751 and 753, Eareckson Air Station, Shemya AlaskaThis project requires the demolition and abatement of approximately 13,867 SF for B751 and 43,450 SF for B753 and adjacent structures, including the following: all contents inside buildings, abatement and remediation as required, removal and disposal of all salvageable and non-salvageable materials in and outside, site cleanup and restoration. The contractor shall provide all material, equipment, labor, housing, food and transportation required to accomplish the requirements of the scope of work. Comprehensive HAZMAT surveys were completed for both buildings and the types of HAZMAT are: lead based paint, fluorescent light bulbs and ballasts, refrigerators, water coolers, smoke detectors, exit signs, fire suppression cylinders, and asbestos in B751 on 2 kitchen sink coatings. B753 has approximately 1,500 cubic yards of concrete in the foundation and exterior walls plus approximately 2,000 cubic yards of other debris. B751 has approximately 700 cubic yards of concrete in the building plus approximately 1,100 cubic yards of other debris.?The buildings have been abandoned for years and have water damage, mold and moss is also present in them. Both buildings were built in 1991 and are assumed to have approximately 6? concrete pads with 5? thick concrete floors and 6? thick pre-case concrete walls with steel structural support.
