- THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for proposal/bid/quotation and no contract will be awarded from this notice. Military Sealift Command (MSC) has a requirement for the upcoming De-Activation Availability on the USNS WALTER S. DIEHL (T-AO 196). The period of performance for this requirement is on or about 15 August 2022 for thirty (30) calendar days. The USNS WALTER S. DIEHL (T-AO 196) has a length of 677 Ft and 6 in, a Beam of 97 Ft, Draft of 36 Ft and Displacement of 40,700 long Tons and 45,584 short tons at full load. Area of consideration are East and Gulf Coast. Major work items associated with this availability include: Dry-docking, Hull Blanking, Tow of vessel to and from Yard, OD Box, Propeller Removal Preservation, Removal of Unrep Equipment, Removal of stores, Mast Cut, stack cover install, Main Engine and SSDG Part Removal, Antenna Removals, Anchor Chain Inspection, System Fluid Draining/Cleaning, MSD/Vacuum Acid Wash and Lifeboat removal/Disposal. The estimated issue date for this solicitation is on or about 22 March 2022. Upon issuance, the solicitation and supporting documentation will be posted and be found in the solicitation module of PIEE and on www.SAM.gov under solicitation number N3220522R4053. A Sources Sought Notice was posted on beta.SAM on 07 February 2022 with a response date of 22 February 2022. As a result of said notice, this requirement will be solicited as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside. MSC�s Small Business Deputy Director, Jacqueline Alford, reviewed the market research results and concurred with the decision to procure this requirement as such on 28 February 2022. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation in response to the solicitation which shall be considered by MSC. Additionally, all responses must provide a DUN & Bradstreet Number and a Cage Code. The appropriate NAICS Code is 336611. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from this potential source as a result of this synopsis. There are no responses due based on this pre-solicitation notice. Attached to this synopsis is a NDA, if interested, please complete the NDA and return it to Stephanie Jewell at Stephanie.r.jewell2.civ@us.navy.mil and the solicitation package will be automatically provided to you once the solicitation has posted.
