- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE CEPHEID GENEXPERT TEST KITS The Department of Veterans Affairs and Syracuse VA Medical Center intend to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source action to: Cepheid 904 Caribbean Dr Sunnyvale, CA 94089-1189 The Government intends to negotiate solely with Cepheid per FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), as no other source of supplies will satisfy agency requirements. Cepheid is the manufacturer and a unique source for GeneXpert Reagents and Test Kits which are capable of fulfilling the Government s needs. The VA-owned GeneXpert Analyzers require OEM supplies as there are no substitutes for reagents that are compatible with existing equipment. Required items: GXCDIFF (EPI-10, KIT,CDIFF/EPI,GX,IVD,10-TEST), GXCT/NG-10 (KIT,CT/NG,GX,IVD), GXMRSA-100N-10 (KIT,MRSA,10-TESTS,GX,IVD), GXMRSA/SA-BC-10 (KIT,MRSA/SA BC,10-TESTS,GX,IVD), GXMTB/RIF-US-10 (KIT,MTB,IVD,US), SDPS-120 SINGLE-USE DISPOSABLE SWAB (SINGLE-USE DISPOSABLE SWAB 120 COUNT), URINE/A-50 (Collection Kit A Urine). The Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items in its facilities. Gray market items are those items outside of the original equipment manufacturer s intended distribution channels. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 325413 and the size standard is 1,250 employees. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will not pay for information submitted. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to Matthew.McDonell@va.gov and will consider responses received by 10:00 am Eastern Standard Time on February 22, 2022. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
