NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Network Audio Installation on Johnson Control Fire Alarm System Veterans Health Affairs, Network Contracting Office 5, is issuing this Notice of Intent to Sole Source in order to identify any potential sources that have the resources and capabilities to install network audio on Johnson Control Fire Alarm System at Beckley VA Medical center, 200 Veterans Avenue, Beckley, WV 25801. The government is contemplating a Firm Fixed Price contract to satisfy this requirement and meet the needs of the Beckley VA Medical Center. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses incurred associated with responding to this RFI.    This Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source is for planning purposes ONLY.  The results of this notice will assist in the development of (1) the requirement, and (2) the acquisition strategy (e.g., small business set-aside, full and open competition, etc.). VA assumes no responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses submitted as a result of this notice.  STATEMENT OF WORK Improve Mas Notification Network Audio Installation on Johnson Control Fire Alarm System Beckley VA Medical Center 200 Veterans Avenue Beckley, WV 25801 A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Upgrade the CPU in the fire alarm control panels to 4100ES in each of the following locations at 200 Veterans Avenue, Beckley WV, 25801: Building 1 Building 5 Building 14/15 Building 8A 2. Upgrade all network cards to ES net fiber optic network cards in each of the locations needed to achieve campus wide operability. 3. Upgrade the parking garage to audio and replace all horns with speakers to ensure all locations of the parking garage can receive mass notification announcements. 4. Install weatherproof loudspeakers on the campus in the following locations: 3-way speaker at the parking garage 3-way speaker at building 8 Building 2 By loading dock at warehouse Behind maintenance department/building By trash compactor and recycling container Cafeteria patio near building 6. 5. Install remote microphone for announcements in police dispatch and add paging buttons to the existing microphones in the operator, AOD, and main fire control panels for redundancy in activating the system for mass notification. 6. Program and test fire alarm system to assure proper overrides and working system. 7. Contractor/Supplier shall provide all other necessary components to assure a working system is achieved.
