THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT-DOIFBO220016 Mechanical Hazardous Fuel Reduction Oregon and Eastern Washington The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make an appropriate acquisition decision and to gain knowledge of potential qualified businesses interested and capable of providing the services described below. Responses are being requested from both large and small businesses. Background The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for Mechanical Hazardous Fuel reduction for the state of Oregon and the eastern portion of Washington State. Please see Attachment-1 Map. Hazardous Fuel Reduction (HFR) and vegetation treatments have been proven as a means of mitigating wildfire hazards, to lessen catastrophic fire and its threat to public and firefighter safety, and damage to property. The objective is to remove enough fuel so that when a wildfire burns, it is less severe and can be more easily suppressed. Scope BLM requires contractors with the capability to provide all the following mechanical hazardous fuel reduction services: 1. Hand Sever and Machine Pile (Track Mounted Swing) 2. Mechanical Sever and Pile (Track Mounted Swing) 3. Mechanical Sever and Pile (Wheeled Carriage) 4. Mechanical Pile (Swing Grapple-SG and Wheeled Carriage) 5. Slash Busting 6. Crushing 7. Mowing 8. Mechanical Yarding 9. Forwarding 10. Fireline Construction and Maintenance The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 115310, Support Activities for Forestry-Fuels Management Services, $20.5M size standard. This sources sought shall not be considered as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the contractor submission of this sources sought or the Government�s use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any contractor�s input resulting from this request. No contract will be awarded as a result of this announcement.
