- Description
- Question: Are revised dimension Diagrams with revised set points required? Answer: Yes. Please provide as-build shop drawings. Question: Repair or replace? Answer: Replace. Question: Open / close by a set of probes would cause a large amount of water and steam from DA into Surge tank causing unsafe condition. Flow must be modulated like existing float assembly. Should we be quoting a modulating control system off DA level for this item? Answer: Yes, a modulating system is required. Question: DA TANK can have NDT done on storage tank. The packed columns have no access and columns are filled. There currently is no way to do NDT on the two packed columns. Answer: NDT for DA storage tank. Question: During the walk thru it was identified that the VA has new equipment on site not installed yet. Are we to use this equipment or furnish new test gases? Answer: For Natural Gas Detectors: sensors are installed, panel is mounted, wires are pulled. This contract is to finish installation by terminating wires, providing power, programming, and testing system. Tie Natural Gas detector panel to main boiler panel if required by VA manual. For Carbon Monoxide system, Wires are pulled from each boiler to outside of the control room above the door. All other install work needs to be included in the contract (installation of devices and panel). ALL BOILERS: Question: Remove existing large common discharge piping? Economizer Relief / water discharge is piped into boiler steam safety vent piping. Where should Economizer Relief Valve discharge get piped to? Answer: What do you recommend? Can the large common discharge pipe be left for the economizer relief/water discharge? This would mean each boiler would have its own steam safety valve vent pipe separate from the common vent manifold. Question: Will testing of vent piping & Steam accumulation be required? Answer: yes, testing of system should be accomplished after install to verify functionality. Question: Repair or Replace? Answer: Repair to correct wiring. The switch was replaced within the last 4 years. Question: Revise wiring as required? Provided revised wiring diagrams for each boiler? Answer: Yes, revise wiring such that OBPS prevents boiler from going into purge and the atomizing air compressor does not start. VA does not have a revised wiring diagram so the contractor will need to provide a revised wiring diagram. Question: During the walk thru we identified that the facility Had Test Gasses on site. Are we to furnish new test gases for all boilers? Answer: Provide new test gasses.
