- U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY OFFICE OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FINANCIAL SPECIALISTS The U.S. Department of the Treasury�s Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) provides technical assistance in over 50 countries in five functional areas: economic crimes, government debt management and issuance, budget and financial accountability, banking and financial services and revenue policy and administration. OTA is seeking Financial Specialists for its Washington, D.C.-based headquarters. The person selected will be hired under a personal services contract (PSC). Financial Specialists perform accounting functions and other financial related analyses to assist the Finance Manager in ensuring accuracy and timeliness of official accounting records and reports for projects and activities in the office. Experience with the NFC (National Finance Center) and knowledge of Federal government accounting is desired. A bachelor�s degree in accounting or related field is desired. Knowledge of Treasury accounting systems and significant accounting or financial-related experience is preferred. Computer experience, spreadsheet, word processing, EXCEL and ACCESS are mandatory. U.S. citizenship is required. Please note:� These are PERSONAL SERVICES CONTRACTOR positions; NOT civil service positions.� SALARY: In accordance with program regulations and based on demonstrated salary history, salaries range from $29.68 to $55.96 per hour. Background checks and Security Clearance: Moderate Risk Public Trust position.� Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate level of clearance.
