- Description
- W15QKN-22-X-0MO8 - Market Survey for PCB Piezotronics Accelerometers The U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey (ACC-NJ), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Project Manager Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC), Armaments Center (AC), Munitions Engineering & Technology Center (METC), Fuze and Precision Armaments Directorate (FPAD) is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources who are capable of manufacturing and delivering various configurations of Piezoresistive sensors (Accelerometers). The purpose of this market survey is to obtain capability statements from potential contractors on their ability to manufacture and deliver the Accelerometers with a need for immediate deliveries in FY22 and further needs in FY23, FY24, and FY25. Accelerometers convert force into an analog electrical signal. The conversion of force into an electrical signal is achieved by the physical deformation of strain gages which are bonded into the wafer of the sensor and wired into a wheat-stone bridge configuration. Force applied to the sensor produces a deflection of the wafer which introduces strain to the gages. The strain will produce an electrical resistance change proportional to the force. These accelerometers are surface mount components on specially designed circuit boards for use in high G telemetry systems. The Precision Munitions Instrumentation Division (PMI-Div), Telemetry branch has developed many systems that incorporate accelerometers for interior ballistics measurements for the Excalibur, Precision Guidance Kit (PGK), Extended Range Cannon Artillery (ERCA) and Aero-fuze programs. These designs rely on the proven capability of the PCB sensors to reliably capture acceleration data in the harsh in-bore cannon environments. To be considered as a capable source for this effort, all interested parties must submit the requested information as follows: a) A narrative explaining the companies, and specific individuals, level of knowledge and experience related to manufacturing and delivery of various configurations of accelerometers. b) Information on delivery lead times and quantities (i.e. how long to deliver at what delivery capacity); c) Listing of past contracts with the same work, or of similar magnitude. d) Include the following Administrative Information: 1. Full Company Name (Legal Entity): 2. Cage Code: 3. Website (if applicable): 4. Contact Information: 5. Business Size Status. If small, what type of concern? This market survey is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the Government. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status. All submissions shall be made BY REQUESTED RESPONSE DATES WITHIN NOTICE by electronic mail to Michael Kline, michael.j.kline56.civ@army.mil. The Government will accept written questions by E-MAIL ONLY. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. All information is to be submitted within thirty (30) calendar days at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of the Market Research notice. All information provided will not be returned and will be held in a confidential status. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All responses shall be unclassified.
