The purpose of AMENDMENT 1 dated 1/27/2022 is populate the annoucnement with the required files for Industry. PLEASE disregard the original announcement� dated 1/26/2022 in its entirety. CLOSE DATE:� 4/1/2022 ********************************** ********************************** 1. Purpose of Announcement This announcement is an opportunity for Industry to review the DRAFT Screening Information Request (SIR) for Ontario Engineering Services (OES).� The DRAFT SIR is for informational purposes only and not a request for any form of a proposal. The FAA is not seeking and will not accept ���unsolicited proposals. The FAA is seeking interested sources that are capable of fulfilling the FAA�s requirements. The FAA will make no contract award and will not procure any material via this announcement.� 2. Introduction The Air/Ground Voice Communications (AGVC) Program Office (PO) is responsible for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) programs that support air/ground voice communications programs in the National Airspace System (NAS).� Currently, these programs include:� the Next Generation Air/Ground Communications (NEXCOM) Phase 2, Radio Control Equipment (RCE), Communications Facilities Sustainment (CFS), Communications Radio Frequency Elimination (RFI), and Airport Cable Loop Sustainment (ACLS).� The NEXCOM Radio Deployment Program (RDP) is an integrated fabrication and construction/installation effort to modernize FAA radio communications with new Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radios. The AGVC PO is utilizing the Eastern Service Area (ESA), Central Service Area (CSA), and Western Service Area (WSA) Communication Engineering Centers (CEC) for engineering, field implementation and upgrading of radio communication equipment serving FAA facilities across the US.� An important element of the NEXCOM RDP involves:� (1) producing of pre-wired communication racks that will be used in various FAA communication facilities in the NAS and (2) providing technical personnel to perform engineering support, technical management, site preparation, and installation of these racks along with the communication equipment at FAA facilities in the NAS.� The racks are designed for the air traffic control VHF and UHF radios and supporting components such as RCEs, power strips, Radio Frequency (RF) bodies and patch panels. 3. Purpose of Contract The purpose of this contract is to acquire contractor services to assist the AGVC PO with NEXCOM and other A/G communications programs.� These services, which will be implemented under direction of AGVC PO and other FAA entities, will provide support for the three FAA Service Areas in providing voice communication capabilities at FAA facilities.� This contract will provide communications rack fabrication, engineering, and NEXCOM field construction/installation support.� The types of facilities involved include, but are not limited to, Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), Remote Communications Air to Ground (RCAG), Back-Up Emergency Communications (BUEC), Automated Flight Service Stations (AFSS), Flight Service Stations (FSS), Remote Communications Outlets (RCO), Remote Transmitter/Receiver (RTR), Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON), Radar Approach Control (RAPCON), and Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT).� The contractor will perform equipment installations at FAA specified sites. Rack fabrication work will be performed at the FAA�s Rack Fabrication Facility at the Ontario System Support Center (SSC) in Ontario, CA.� Additionally, this contract supports major ACLS Fiber Optic Transmission Systems (FOTS) projects, ACLS site surveys, CFS projects, and other AGVC programs. 4. Instructions The FAA welcomes industry questions and comments by submission of Attachment L.5 Offeror Clarification Question Template. �Please NOTE that the FAA does not intend to officially respond but use the received questions / comments to mature the documents for Final Format and SIR release.
