PSD / Aerial Ignition Devices are utilized by the USFS to conduct prescribed and wildland fire operations to start fires on the ground from a Helicopter. � Fire Ignition Resources is the sole source provider in the United States for Premo PSD Balls from the Manufacturer. �The USFS, Carson and Santa Fe National Forests need to maintain an inventory of PSD Balls from a single manufacturer that are the same size, manufacture and chemical composition to insure safe, consistent use and ignition from the Premo Mk III PSD Machine. �
