THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) 36C26222Q0250 - IS ISSUED SOLELY FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION. THE SUBMISSION OF PRICING, CAPABILITIES FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, AND OTHER MARKET INFORMATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED AND ALLOWED UNDER THIS RFI IN ACCORDANCE WITH (IAW) FAR 15.201(e). The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 333413 (size standard of 1000 Employees). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Construction 2.1 The filter media shall be a mechanical synthetic media that is pleated into a consistent media pack. 2.2 An expanded rust resistant metal backing shall be bonded to the downstream side of the media to maintain the pleat shape and for added strength. 2.3 The filter frame shall be a heavy duty aqua coated beverage board frame. The frame shall consist of two-piece construction. 2.4 The filter frame shall be comprised of 100% reclaimed fiber with a minimum of 35% Post-Consumer fiber. 2.5 The frame shall be bonded to the media to prevent air bypass. 2.6 The frame shall have diagonal cross supports on air entering and air leaving side for added support and pleat spacing. Performance 3.1 The filter shall have a MERV A (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) value of 9 when tested by an independent test facility according to ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Standard 52.2 Appendix J (KCL Conditioning Step). The filter shall achieve a minimum E2A value of 38.8% and a minimum E3A value of 75.5%. 3.2 The filter shall have an initial resistance of 0.20 W.G. (50 PA) at the recommended airflow of 500 FPM (2.54 m/sec) for a 24 x24 x2 (610x610x51mm) nominally sized filter. The filter shall have a media surface area of 19.2 square feet (1.78 m2) 3.3 The filter shall have a recommended final resistance of 1.0 W.G. (249 PA). 3.4 The filter shall meet ANSI/UL-900 requirements. 3.2 4 PLY TD Panel: General 1.1 Filters shall be Tri-Dek® XL 4-Ply Panel and Link Filters as manufactured by Tri- Dim Filter Corporation. 1.2 The quantity, sizes and capacities shall be as scheduled or noted on the drawings or other supporting documents. Construction 2.1 The filter media shall be multi-graduated laminate of variable denier synthetic fibers that form four distinctive plies that are arranged from coarse to increasingly finer deniers of media. 2.2 The filter media shall be comprised of a minimum of 24% of recycled materials. Percentage shall be calculated by weight. 2.3 The filter shall have a downstream layer that is composed of a needled, synthetic media that has dual directional strength, insuring filter integrity as it becomes loaded. 2.4 The filter shall utilize two distinctive tackifiers, both a wet and dry tack, to maximize filtration. 2.5 The filter shall utilize an internal wire support constructed of a nine and one half gauge galvanized wire. Cross wires will be utilized on all panels greater than eleven and one quarter inches for added rigidity. 2.6 The internal wire support shall be encapsulated between the different plies of synthetic media by a thermally generated seal. Performance 3.1 The filter shall be a minimum of MERV 8 when tested by an independent test facility according to ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Standard 52.2. The filter shall achieve a minimum E2 value of 61% and a minimum E3 value of 74%. 3.2 The filter shall have an initial resistance of no more than 0.51 W.G. (127 PA) at the airflow of 492 FPM (2.5 m/sec). The filter shall have a recommended final resistance of 1.0 W.G. (249 PA). 3.3 Ultra 4 W/Header: General 1.1 Filters shall be ULTRA 4 MERV 14 Filters as manufactured by Tri-Dim Filter Corporation. 1.2 The quantity, sizes and capacities shall be as scheduled or noted on the drawings or other supporting documents. Construction 2.1 The filter media shall consist of one continuous media pack of 100% synthetic media that is pleated into a consistent pack depth. The pleats in the media pack shall be uniformly spaced by glue-bead separators to prevent media pleat to media pleat contact and provide uniform airflow through the filter. 2.2 The filter frame shall be (select one) a high impact injection molded box-style frame or a high impact injection molded frame with a single peripheral header 13/16 (21mm) thick. 2.3 The media pack shall be encapsulated by a thermo-plastic adhesive sealant to the filter frame on all sides. 3.0 Performance 3.1 The filter shall have a MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) value of 14 when tested according to ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Standard 52.2. The filter shall achieve a minimum E1 value of 81.2%, E2 value of 95.0% and a minimum E3 value of 99.1%. 3.2 The filter shall have an initial resistance of 0.38 W.G. (95 PA) at the recommended airflow of 500 FPM (2.54 m/sec) for a 24 x24 x4 (610x610x102mm) nominally sized filter. 3.3 The filter shall have a recommended final resistance of 1.5 W.G. (373 PA). 3.4 8 Panel Predator General 1.1 Filters shall be 90-95% Predator Filter as manufactured by Tri-Dim Filter Corporation. 1.2 The quantity, sizes and capacities shall be as scheduled or noted on the drawings or other supporting documents. Construction 2.1 The filter media shall be a wet laid microfiber media, that shall not shed and which shall be resistant to high humidity. 2.2 The filter media shall consist of eight media packs of micro glass fiber media that is pleated into a consistent pack. The pleats in the media pack shall be uniformly spaced by adhesive separators to prevent media pleat to media pleat contact and provide uniform airflow through the filter. 2.3 The media packs shall be positioned to form a V-Bank Design to provide maximum media area. 2.4 The media pack shall be sealed to the filter frame utilizing a flexible adhesive that shall be applied on all four peripheral edges of the media pack on the face of the filter. 3.0 Frame 3.1 The frame shall be constructed of HIPS. 3.2 The frame style shall be single header style with plastic struts for added rigidity. 3.3 An optional double header configuration is available the filter shall have a metal wrap that adds a double header for applications where required. 4.0 Performance 4.1 The filter shall have a MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) value of 15A when tested by an independent test facility according to ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Standard 52.2 with Appendix J. The filter shall achieve a minimum E1A value of 85.1%, E2A value of 97.1% and a minimum E3A value of 99.6%. 4.2 The filter shall have an initial resistance of 0.37 W.G. (92 PA) at the recommended airflow of 500 FPM (2.54 m/sec) for a 24 x24 x12 (610x610x305mm) nominally sized filter. 4.3 The filter shall have a recommended final resistance of 1.5 W.G. (373 PA). 4.4 The filter shall meet ANSI/UL-900 requirements. 3.5 Syn-Pac A Bag General 1.1 Filters shall be Syn-Pac A 95% Dual Layer Synthetic Bag Filter as manufactured by Tri-Dim Filter Corporation. 1.2 The quantity, sizes and capacities shall be as scheduled or noted on the drawings or other supporting documents. Construction 2.1 The filter media shall be two layers. The first layer shall be a 100% synthetic prefilter layer. The second layer shall be lofted melt blown synthetic media adhered to a non-woven support backing for strength and durability. 2.2 The media shall be formed into tapered pockets that shall be span-stitched to a non-woven backing. Each span-stitch shall be sealed with a narrow ribbon of adhesive to add strength and to prevent air bypass. Span-stitching shall allow for uniform velocities and dust loading throughout the depth of the pocket. 2.3 Each pocket end opening shall be secured to a double turned pocket hoop. Each pocket shall be locked into the channel header frame along the exterior edges and mechanically secured to adjacent pockets to prevent the bypass of unfiltered air and for filter rigidity. 2.4 The frame shall be a peripheral metal header 13/16 (21mm) thick constructed of 26 gauge Galvanneal steel. Performance 3.1 The filter shall have a MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) value of 15 when tested by an independent test facility according to ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Standard 52.2. The filter shall achieve a minimum E1 value of 90.8%, E2 value of 98.2% and a minimum E3 value of 99.3%. 3.2 The filter shall have an initial resistance of 0.37 W.G. (92 PA) at the recommended airflow of 500 FPM (2.54 m/sec) for a 24 x24 x30 8 Pocket (610x610x762mm) nominally sized filter. The filter shall have a media surface area of 80 square feet (7.43m2) 3.3 The filter shall have a recommended final resistance of 1.5 W.G. (373 PA). 3.4 The filter shall meet ANSI/UL-900 requirements.
