- Description
- The Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Research and Development (R&D), Regional Procurement Office (RPO) East in Pittsburgh, PA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with DMT-USA The requirement is for the procurement of Pressure Myograph System equipment for Vascular study in different animals. The requirement is for the contractor to provide and ship this equipment (all components that make up this system) to VA Health Care System in Milwaukee. This procurement shall be inclusive of shipping and handling charges (FBO Destination). Ancillary services required for this requirement is online installation support and online technical (software and hardware) support. This procurement is being conducted IAW FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This is because the Government asserts that DMT-USA, is the only contractor that can provide this specific equipment needed by the R&D Laboratory at Milwaukee VAMC. Specifically, the characteristics of the DMT-USA that are unique are as follows: Investigate vascular compliance and function in a variety of vessels of vastly different sizes from different animals and animal models of disease under near physiological pressure . The chamber is designed to accommodate cannulas of different sizes to mount vessels larger than 1.2 mm to as small as 60 um in diameter. This system has stainless steel organ chambers. The use of the small-volume stainless steel chambers will assist in drug and compound costs over the course of these studies. Pressure and temperature settings are easily controlled and automated through the touchscreen interface and accompanying MyoVIEW software. The MyoVIEW software provides real-time feedback of up to 18 parameters from the experiments and also gives the user the ability to record video for later data analysis. The DMT systems have the sensitivity and durability needed to produce reliable, consistent data. This is important as it will save time and money by not having to conduct experiments to re-validate previous data. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement and supporting documentation to the Contracting Officer no later than Friday, January 7, 2022, (4:00 PM, EST). Interest/capability statements may be sent by email to Mr. Stacy Taylor at Stacy Taylor@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
