RFI FOR STATE OF THE ART - Active Noise Reduction (ANR) Hearing Protection for Navy and Marine Corp Aircrew To promote early exchanges of information with Industry in accordance with FAR Subpart 15.2, Naval Air Systems Command, Aircrew Systems (NAVAIR PMA202) of Patuxent River, Maryland is issuing this Request for Information (RFI).� NAVAIR is requesting information to identify qualified sources to provide commercially available Active Noise Reduction (ANR) hearing protection for Navy and Marine Corps aircrew, flight deck personnel and maintainers.� The technical specifications are provided below. �Interested parties are invited to describe their capabilities to provide the product as described herein. The Navy plans to assess COTS items that meet user requirements as required for mission needs. Cost will be a consideration in determining COTS items approved for use. �Multiple items could be approved if found to be acceptable. Technical Specifications: Response, Attenuation and Active Insertion loss, Weight, Interface, Power, Speaker, Operating Conditions, Testing Conditions, Frequency Table, Impedance Speaker specifications and performance data audio signal level and frequency range Microphone specifications and performance data Certifications/performance, e.g., TSO, FAA, MIL-STD-810, ANSI S12.5, ANSI S12.42 Maximum noise (level and spectrum) COTS item is tested in/certified to, and expected effects/degradation in performance if subjected to noise levels above certified level EMC shielding Connector options *Please see attached document for more information and requirements.� � � � � � � �
