- Description
- Scope of Work Description of Work: Roadway Snow Removal for the Truckee Ranger Station.� All work shall be performed in a skillful and professional manner. Contractor shall provide qualified equipment operators. The Contractor shall be liable for loss, damage, or destruction resulting from his/her negligent or wrongful act(s), or that of his/her employees while acting within the scope of their employment. Contractor shall exercise extreme care to prevent damage to curbs, guard rails, utilities, trees, or other obstacles that may be covered with snow. Contractor Responsibility: The Contractor shall provide everything � including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision � necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the Government. Project Location & Description Location: 10811 Stockrest Springs Road, Truckee CA 96161 Description: Truckee Ranger Station is at the SE intersection of Donner Pass Road and Interstate 80 at 10811 Stockrest Springs Road, Truckee CA 96161. Estimated Start Date & Contract Time Estimated Base Period: Dec 15, 2021 - October 31, 2022 Up to four 12-month additional periods to be exercised at the Government�s option. Equipment Requirements Snowplows or snow blowers shall be equipped with adjustable skid shoes to prevent damage to road surfaces. Contractor shall not use crawler-type tractor for removing snow from stabilized roadways. Contractor shall not use end loaders with digging teeth mounted on the cutting edge of the bucket. C.6 Specifications Snow shall be removed from the full width of roadways and parking areas. The Contractor is responsible for placing snow poles as needed to identify the limits shown on Exhibit A as well as identifying any hazards, utilities or improvements that need to be protected. Culverts and drainage structures shall be kept open to provide for adequate drainage from the roadway. Opening shall be a minimum of three feet wide. Snow shall be piled in designated locations as shown on Exhibits A and B, or as agreed upon with the Contracting Officer's Representative. Snow pile areas shown at a distance from roadway edge provide ramping opportunities to dispose of snow. Ramps shall be constructed as necessary to provide disposal for large or cumulative quantities of snow. The Contractor shall be available to perform snow removal services seven days a week. Each service type described below may or may not be required on each day of a storm. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to monitor snow depths for initiation of snow removal services. Full Service: The Truckee Ranger District Office shall be plowed when the snow accumulates to a depth of 6 inches. The Contractor shall perform snow removal services as shown on Exhibit A early enough in the morning to have all designated areas cleared of snow by 0730 hours. Each Full Service shall consist of a complete plow to be billed as one service (line Items 1,3,5,7 and 9 on the schedule of items). Roadway Service: When the snow accumulates to a depth of 6 inches between 0730 and 1600 hours, the Contractor shall remove snow from the designated roadways as shown on Exhibit B by 1600 hours. Snow shall be removed the full width of roadways to provide safe ingress and egress. Each Roadway Service shall be billed as one service (line items 2,4,6,8 and 10 on the schedule of items). Call Back Service: The Contracting Officer�s Representative (COR) may request an individual plow service as they deem necessary. For example, if additional clean-up beyond the normal service is necessary in parking areas. Each Call Back Service shall be billed under Line Item 2,4,6,8 or 10 as corresponds with the current option year, Roadway Service at the same rate, with an annotation of the nature of the Call Back.
