- This is a sources sought/market research synopsis. The Alexandria VA Health Care System (AVAHCS), Pineville, LA contracting office is performing market research to ascertain whether there are potential sources and their business size classification: HUB-Zone, 8(a), Small Business, Small Disadvantage Business, Women Owned Business, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOSB), or Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). Preferably SDVOSB/small businesses. The NAICS Code is 518210, Data Processing, Hosting, and Related Services. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System (SLVHCS), New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking service of a contractor to provide cancer data abstracting, support and staffing in the Cancer Registry section of the Associate Director for Patient/Nursing Care Service and abstracting of cancer data services to support the care and treatment given to Veterans with malignant disease. The scope of work is as follow: The contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) must have been trained and proficient in OncoTrax (VA Software) and have utilized program within the previous 3 years to remain compliant and versed with continual changes and patches identified to meet with current VHA guidelines. The contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) will thoroughly search the medical record to identify and code all information pertinent to the patient's diagnosis. This includes demographics, diagnosis, site and histology, diagnostic/procedures, extent of disease, and treatment. Coding assignments may involve highly technical, complex diagnoses/procedures. The contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) will utilize coding references to ensure that complete and accurate data are collected. The contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) will code information contained on several forms and documents that make up an entire record, code diseases, surgical procedures, and co-morbid conditions. In addition, the contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) will use specific codes required in a cancer registry, stage of disease, morphology, and topography utilizing the most current editions of the; International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) Staging Manual, and the Facility Oncology Registry Data Standards (FORDS) manual. The contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) independently codes a wide variety of medical diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures. These include but are not limited to: Contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) must code stages of disease using American Joint Commission on Cancer staging requirements. Contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) must analyze the consistency of coding of registry data, cancer diagnosis, histology, treatment (including surgical procedures, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and radiation therapy). Contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) must identify coding discrepancies. Contacted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) must facilitate resolutions if coding discrepancies by discussion with the cancer registrar coordinator. Contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) must code complicated medical records having diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic procedures that are identified as difficult to classify. Contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) must review records to obtain data. Contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) must enter data obtained from the sources into the registry software, OncoTraX V2. l l P54 or greater. Contractor and/or sub-contracted Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) shall provide on consults hours assisting and advising Cancer Program staff with training and/or Commissions on Cancer survey readiness and preparation. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. This is not a solicitation for proposals or quotes. A solicitation will be issued later. All information submitted in response to this source sought notice is considered voluntary.
