- Regional Procurement Office (RPO) - East intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Soterix Medical, Inc., 237 West 35th Street, Suite 1401, New York, New York, 10001-1950, , to purchase the Soterix MxN-5 HD system and Soterix mBrainTrain Smarting Pro mobile EEG equipment for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The equipment is necessary to for use in research studies to collected EEG recordings with unrestricted movement. They are also the Sole Distributor of the MxN-5 HD-tES system throughout the world and this is the only transcranial electrical stimulation system currently on the market. This HD-tES system is non-invasive and can target cortical and deep brain structure with weak currents. As previously mentioned, HD stimulation is scalable and can be integrated with any research grade EEG system. Likewise, integrated Soterix Medical Neurotargeting software and neuronavigation allows precise stimulator programming for brain targeting. The mBrainTrain Smarting Pro mobile EEG has several unique advantages including recording data using an untethered mobile recoding system that incorporates a head-mounted amplifier, data storage, and battery system. This system uses an integrate automatic real-time artifact removal where raw data is automatically processed and cleaned as data is being recorded so both raw and clean data is available for researchers to choose what data we want to use in real-time studies. The mBrainTrain Smarting Pro mobile EEG has exquisite signal quality with 24bit resolution and under 1 µV input-referred noise. Latest technology upgrades were made to address all the identified industry challenges for mobile EEGs such as limited range of connectivity for use when in motion, improved connection stability with the use of Bluetooth 5.0, and wireless synchronization to limit any delays in data collection. Salient Characteristics, tDCS-tES System This highly-specialized piece of equipment needs to be able to: Deliver transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) Deliver high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) Deliver transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) Deliver transcranial random noise stimulation (tRNS) Deliver transcranial pulse current stimulation (tPCS) Deliver transcranial oscillating direct current stimulation (tODCS) Scalable system which provides option to add channel modules Standalone device that does not require connection to external computer Salient Characteristics, Mobile Electroencephalography (EEG) System This highly-specialized equipment system needs to be able to: Record electroencephalography (EEG) data using an untethered mobile recording system that incorporates a head-mounted amplifier, data storage, and battery system with a minimum battery life of 8-hours Record a minimum 32-channels of EEG data simultaneously Offer an EEG electrode cap in 10-20 configuration using gel-compatible electrodes Record EEG data at high speed (i.e., a minimum sampling rate of 1000Hz) Connect to other lab devices to synchronize data using Bluetooth 5.0 with low interference Incorporate a head-mounted position sensor to measure 3-dimensional head-motion Provide data backup on device for added data protection Integrate automatic real-time artifact removal where raw data is automatically processed and cleaned as data is being recorded This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
