- Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 1901 the Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics for a Medical Physicist for the optimization of the CT and MRI scanners and protocols utilized for the affiliated University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics transplant program. University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics is the only vendor authorized to optimize and calibrate on these machines and to update protocols to ensure accuracy. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Medical Physicist for the optimization of the CT and MRI scanners and protocols is already in use. This request is for sustainment of an existing service. This acquisition is conducted under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901 Simplified acquisition procedures as implemented in FAR 13.106-3(b)(3)(i), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This will be a firm fixed price contract for a one-year base plus four (4) one-year options. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541690 with a business size standard of $16.5 Million. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by 10:00 AM Local Time (Central) November 22, 2021. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. This evidence shall include a letter from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) stating vendor is an authorized distributor per clause 852.212-72(c). Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, Joni Dorr, joni.dorr@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
