- Description
- The Department of Agriculture�s (USDA) Animal Plant Health Inspection Service�s (APHIS) National Veterinary Stockpile (NVS) is looking for 8(a) contractors that can provide custom�clear polyethylene bags. The bags� The clear polyethylene bags specified herein are used by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), for packaging cattle backtags, metal cattle eartags, and other animal health identification materials used in connection with the Market Cattle Testing (MCT) Program. Bag Type: 0001 The bag shall be made of clear polyethylene and shall be of a welded or heat sealed construction. The bag thickness must be 4 mil plus or minus 10 % of caliper ordered per industry standards which will allow the acceptable bag tolerance of a 3.9 mil to a 4.1 mil range SIZE:� 4 � inch width by 8 inch front length with � lip. HOLES:� One � inch hole shall be punched though the bag and located 1 inch from the top of the 8 inch front and 2 1/4 inch from each side.� Two � inch holes shall be punched through the bag, one at each bottom corners � inch from each leading edge. The back of the bag shall be � inch longer than the front, thereby forming an extended lip at the opening.� This is necessary when handling the bags with wet hands. BAG Type 0002 The bag shall be made of clear polyethylene and shall be of a welded or heat sealed construction. Size: �8 inch width by 7 � inch length.� Flat open end. It is at the discretion of USDA to determine if a small business set-aside is appropriate based upon the capability information provided in response to this notice, and other pertinent information gathered by the contracting officer.� This notice does not constitute a solicitation. This invitation for capability statements is for planning purposes only. The acquisition strategy for this proposed project has not yet been determined. Response to this notice is strictly voluntary. The Government will not reimburse any party for its participation in this effort. Information submitted in response to this notice is subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge or provide feedback with respect to any information submitted under this notice.
