Description

THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to Spectra Systems Corporation.� The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has a requirement for three (3) Online Quality Control Units (ONQCU) required to replace aging quality control inspection equipment. The ONQCUs are used in the production of U.S. Currency to detect and authenticate critical security feature. This requirement will include the design and build of three (3) ONQCUs, delivery, installation of the equipment, storage, testing, and training. The proposed Contractor is the manufacturer of the highly specialized equipment to be provided under this proposed contract action, and based on the proprietary nature of the equipment no other sources are available to satisfy this requirement. As the manufacturer of the equipment to be purchased, delivered and installed under this contract, Spectra Systems Corporation will reduce any potential unacceptable delays (FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B). A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit documentation that clearly demonstrates their capability. Responses to this notice shall be received by 22 October 2021 at 1:00 P.M. EST. All responses must be in writing only via email to the point of contacts specified in this notice. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
