- NOTICE OF INTENT FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.� Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, intends to issue an out-of-scope contract modification to Balfour Beatty Construction (BBC) to construct a paint shop that will be integrated into the facilities currently being constructed under Contract No. W91236-20-C-2025, Battalion Complex Operations Building and Hangar Facility, Joint Base Langley Eustis (JBLE), Virginia.� The contract was awarded to BBC on September 29, 2020. �Integration of the paint shop will involve a re-design of pertinent structural elements, building envelope, and relocation of internal construction features.� The paint shop is an approximate 600 square meter maintenance facility that consists of painting equipment and paint storage.� It will provide a paint kitchen, and provides space for washing, rinsing, paint stripping, corrosion removal, protective coating, chemical agent resistant coating, painting of aircraft and/or components, and a paint booth. The paint booth is immediately adjacent to and will share several technical features, to include superstructure, electrical, foundations, security, and other key systems with the Hangar Facility. All potential responsible sources wishing to demonstrate ability to meet the agency�s requirements may submit a written response with technical capabilities statement, which if timely received, will be considered by the agency.� This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.� It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability of other qualified sources that can meet the requirements identified above.� The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice of intent. This Notice of Intent is hereby published in accordance with FAR 5.201.� �A determination by the Government not to compete the project as described herein based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Norfolk District will consider any responses to this notice received within fifteen (15) calendar days of the posting of the notice.� Responses may be submitted via email to dariya.m.walker@usace.army.mil, copy to Ekaterina.oxley@usace.army.mil
