- Page 2 of 2 Page 2 of 2 36C24221Q1083 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE KINGFISHER TESTING REAGENTS AND SUPPLIES The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office NC02 in conjunction with the Western New York Health Care System Buffalo VA Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Departments intend to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS code is 325413 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with FISHER HEALTHCARE for Kingfisher testing reagents and supplies This contract will be a Firm Fixed Price sole source. In direct support of the COVID-19 Pandemic WNYHS has been instructed to increase testing capacity. These reagents and supplies are needed to improve SARS Cov-2 testing capacity. VA WNY HEALTHCARE SYSTEM AT BUFFALO owns the highly specialized Applied Biosystems TAqPATH COVID-19 Instrument. The necessary reagents and supplies required for COVID-19 testing and analysis are provided only by Fisher. Fisher Healthcare is the sole vendor that can provide the testing reagents and supplies compatible with the Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast DX Real-time PCR instrument for COVID-19 testing and analysis. This is also an urgent and compelling issue. Other persons may identify their interest by responding to this requirement by Friday, July 2nd 2021 at 5pm EDT. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
