Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY.� This IS NOT a REQUEST for PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, or BIDS.� Responses to this request will not be returned.� Not responding to this sources sought does not preclude participation in any future and potential solicitation.� It is the intent of the Contracting Office to use this information for market research purposes only.� The survey is being conducted to determine the interest of industry within NAICS codes #483211, and establish that there are adequate Large and/or Small Business (HUBZONE 8(a) or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business) contractors for providing dry docking of a barge and marine repairs and services.� The Government WILL NOT pay for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of any such information.� If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via the Federal Business Opportunities (http:www.fbo.gov). The Louisville District of the Corps of Engineers intends to procure the services to tow the Corps of Engineers crane barge Henry M. Shreve from Cannelton Locks and Dam ORM 720.7 at Cannelton, IN and deliver it to Olmsted Locks and Dam ORM 964.6.� After completing the work it will return the crane barge to the Louisville Repair Station at ORM 606.8. The crane barge is 100�wide x 300� long x 14� hull and drafts approximately 8�.� The air draft of the crane can be lowered to 55� minimum, but is typically 64� to the top of the spuds.� After arriving at Olmsted Locks and Dam the contract tow will disembark and the crane will support the miter gate anchor arm replacement at Olmsted.� Upon completion of the project the contract tow will pickup the Shreve and return it to the Louisville Repair Station which is adjacent to and upstream of McAlpine Locks at ORM 606.8. It is anticipated that the pickup would be at the end of August or beginning of September 2021, and the return trip would be early to mid October. Contract tow shall have a minimum of 4000 hp.� Meals and separate berth�s shall be provided for two government employees while underway.�Contractor must have liability insurance for the replacement cost of the vessel, $40M.� The Government is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to identify resources available to transport the crane barge Henry M. Shreve to support work at Olmsted Locks and Dam between 15 August 2021 and 31 October 2021. All interested business concerns for this requirement shall provide the following information when responding to this RFI: Company name DUNS number Type of business concern (small business, large business, etc.) Years in business Amount of Liability Insurance Statement of capability and qualifications of the organization to perform the requirement List of similar projects worked on over the past 5 years and services provided on those projects. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is #483211. ** EACH SUBMISSION SHOULD NOT EXCEED 5 PAGES TOTAL ** Notice to potential contractors:� All offerors who provide goods or services to the Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) located on the website https://www.sam.gov/portal/publi/SAM/#1 .� Additionally, all Services Disabled/Veterans Owned Business or Veterans Owned Small Business must be registered with the Department of Veterans Affairs Center of Veterans Enterprise Vet Biz Registry located at http://vip.vetbiz.gov .
