- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED � The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center(CC), Department of Transfusion (DTM), Medicine/Human Leukocyte Antigen(HLA) Laboratory , intends to enter into a contract on a sole source basis, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) and FAR 6.302-1 to procure a contract with Illumina,Inc. 5200 Illumina way,San Diego,CA 92122-4616 for an Illumina MiSeq Next Generation Sequencer. The�MiSeq�is an integrated instrument that performs clonal amplification, genomic DNA sequencing, and data analysis with base calling, alignment, variant calling, and reporting in a single run.� The MiSeq will provide the Lab with the highest HLA typing results possible. The transplant protocols served by the HLA Lab require highest resolution possible to increase the chance of a successful transplant.��� �Illumina Inc. is the manufacturer of this instrument, so it can only be purchased thru them.� The HLA Lab requires this specific instrument because it currently has one in the lab, and all procedures and Quality Control assessments have been made for this instrument. If there are other sources able to supply the required equipment, they must respond by submitting a capability statement within 5 days of publication of this synopsis. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to the closing date of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. �A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. RESPONDENTS MAY SUBMIT THEIR CAPABILITY STATEMENTS VIA E-MAIL TO THE POINT OF CONTACT LISTED IN THIS NOTICE OF INTENT SYNOPSIS. � Each response should include the following Business Information a.
