Description
This combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format at FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.� This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number W913E521Q0017 is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ).� This requirement is a total set-aside for small business concerns. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333132 � Oil and Gas Field Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing. The small business size standard is 1,250 employees The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, NH has a requirement for one (1) 50 ft long fire boom for the in-situ burning tests that will be performed at CRREL.� The fire boom should have the following specifications: General. A 50 ft/15 m long fire boom that can withstand high temperatures (above 2,000 F) and can maintain its structural integrity for long durations (at least 10 hours). The boom shall conform to specifications set forth in ASTM Standards for In-Situ Burning of Oil. Materials: The boom material can withstand repeated burn tests at temperatures up to 2000 F with no failures. Degradation on material should be predictable, easily observed and be easy to replace in the field using only common hand tools. Fire boom should be modular, assembled using stainless connectors, making it easy to extend, repair or replace boom sections in the field. Shipping. Shipping should be included in the contractor�s quote; Final destination: CRREL, 72Lyme Rd, Hanover NH 03755. Please reference the attached RFQ for applicable provisions and clauses. The Government intends to award a firm fixed-price contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest price technically acceptable (LPTA) responsible quote. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: Technical capability of the quote to meet the Government�s requirement and price.
