- BLM-CO - Museum Curatorial Services - Sole Source Notice This announcement constitutes the only notice. This is not a request for quotes. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 7 June 2021, by sending an e-mail to rhall@blm.gov; however, any technical data received will be for the sole purpose of market research for future requirements. Under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), the Bureau of Land Management Colorado State Office intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed contract line modification to 140L1718P0051 with the Museum of Western Colorado, DUNS: 086342235 for up to $50,000 for additional work out of scope in addition to the already scheduled option line. Due to COVID-19 pandemic and other circumstances, the Museum is taking over collections from Western Wyoming Community College, as the College repository which has closed due to COVID-19 financial impacts. All collections will be accessioned, cared for, and overseen, and properly curated. To make room for these collections, as well as expand space for existing and incoming BLM collections, the Museum will purchase additional shelving and curation supplies as needed. The Museum will expand access to collections through digital database enhancements. This will include photography of collections, input of collections into the Museum�s collections software, and increasing digital collections access to the public via web services. ====== AUTHORITY: 8.405-6(a)(2) Limited Sources Justification and Approval 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: The agency is required to preserve collections and associated records of prehistoric and historic material remains recovered from BLM Managed Public Lands under authority of the Antiquities Act (16 USC 431-433), Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (16 USC 470h-2) and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act (16 USC470aa-mm). No other facilities exist in Western Colorado which comply with the above directives. For more information contact the POC listed below.
