- Description
- The Memphis District USACE has a requirement for three (3) hydraulic-driven double drum waterfall winches with diesel-hydraulic power unit systems for the Mat Loading Unit (MLU). �The winches need to be suitable for operation in a marine environment, with features comparable to those of AMClyde Frame 8 two-drum winch system. �The winches should also be able to hold 1000 feet of 1-1/8 inch cable on upper and lower drums and between 6,000-8,000 lb. anchors on the starboard and port sides of the barge. The current winches on the MLU are over 30 years old.� One winch is inoperative and finding parts for older winches are difficult because they are obsolete.
