- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented by FAR 13, with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N0018921QZ089 is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are provided as an attachment to this synopsis. This requirement is being competed as a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 333242 Semiconductor Machinery Manufacturing. The small business employee size standard is 1500. The Philadelphia Division, Contracting Department of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk intends to solicit and award a Firm Fixed Price contract for this requirement. REQUIREMENT: The Navy has a requirement seeking a system that can be used as a calcium or strontium source for atomic spectroscopy for an optical clock. A molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) effusion cell source works well for this purpose; however, the dual filament design alone does not provide the necessary temperature stability for achieving required levels of clock performance. Additional thermal control, provided by an integrated water cooling system, would provide additional temperate stability and, therefore, improve ultimate performance of our clock. Services will be inspected and accepted at Destination by the Government. The anticipated award date is 11 June 2021. Delivery of this requirement must be no later 90 days after receipt of award. The contract line item number, item description, quantities and consumable items list are listed in Attachment 1 Section A. SUBMISSION OF QUOTES: Initial quotes and any modifications thereto are due on or before 26 May 2021 at 9:00AM local time. Quotes shall be sent to: Michael.stoutenger@navy.mil Attn: RFQ N0018921QZ0173 All questions about this RFQ shall be submitted by 15 May 2021 to Michael Stoutenger at Michael.stoutenger@navy.mil ATTACHMENT 1: Section Title A Contract Line Item Numbers 1 4 B Statement of Work C Additional Instructions POINT OF CONTACT: The point of contact for questions about this requirement is: Michael Stoutenger, Code 265.2., Michael.stoutenger@navy.mil
