Description

36C24821Q0654 Steam Pressure Station Removal and Relocation Answers to RFI Question # Reference Question 001 There are NO Specs included in this Solicitation. Confirmed. Please refer to https://www.cfm.va.gov/til/spec.asp - Department of Veterans Affairs VHA Master Specifications. 002 At present there is a du-plex system in use for the Existing PRV station. Please confirm that the new PRV station will be a singular 30 psi and singular 50 psi station. Confirmed. 003 Please inform us as to the hours in which we will be able to perform the shut down needed to tie in the new Steam PRV station and how long we have to perform such work. During a weekend, from 8pm Friday night to 8pm Sunday night. Period of Performance for this requirement is 90 days after Kick-off meeting or Notice to Proceed. 004 Please confirm that the insulation to be installed on the new steam piping will be 4 thick fiberglass insulation with ASJ jacket. Insulation should be 3 Thick Fiberglass with ASJ jacket. 005 Please confirm that the insulation to be installed on the new condensate piping will be 1 fiberglass insulation with ASJ jacket. Confirmed. 006 Please confirm we will be tying into an existing 6 (six) inch gate valve located on a 100psi steam line and not a 120psi steam line as noted in the RFQ/SOW No, Contractor will be tying into a 120 PSI steam line. 007 Please confirm there will be a bypass line for each PRV, one for the 30 psi line and the 50 psi line. Confirmed. 008 What would the VA have us do with the materials wrecked out from this project? These materials will be disposed of with the exception of the SteamEye transmitters. The contractor must provide their own dumpster. 009 Please confirm that all SteamEye transmitters are to be saved and returned the VA for their use. Confirmed. 010 Are we to understand this project has Liquidated Damages in the amount of $500 per calendar day? Yes, per FAR 52.211.12, Liquidated Damages- Construction. 011 Please verify that the line we will be using for the new Steam PRV station will need to be wrecked out by the contractor from the existing 6 (six) inch gate valve in its entirety. Confirmed. 012 Please verify that the new steam safety relief valves will tie in to the existing 4 lines that are right above where the new PRV station will be installed. Confirmed. 013 Please advise on the size of the bypass line the VA wants for both the 30 psi and 50 psi line. 2 Inch. 014 What is the total capacity in # per hour for the 30# PRV station including both PRV s on the old system? Information unknown and not required. The important thing is that the replacement PRV should be the same size as the current. 015 What is the total capacity in # per hour for the 50# PRV station including both PRV s on the old system? Information unknown and not required. The important thing is that the replacement PRV should be the same size as the current.
