Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers- Vicksburg District, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, has an urgent requirement and intends to award a sole source BPA Call to Verret Shipyard, Inc., 29120 Hwy 75, Plaquemine, LA for Dry Docking MV Harrison and Crane Barge 6704. This will require the contractor to: M/V Harrison Repairs ������������� Swap current wheels with spare wheels (USACE will supply spare wheels and deliver) ������������� Check shaft alignment ������������� Check Stump Guards ������������� Install check valve at fire pump inlet pipe (piping was previously plugged to stop leak � still need replacement valve) ������������� Raise/position the lower masthead light by at least one meter (in accordance with 33CFR83.23(a)(1) ������������� Repair fuel leak in void between potable water tank and fuel tank. ������������� Will require cleaning and gas freeing fuel tank(s) ������������� Contractor will be required to store up to 10,000 gallons of fuel when cleaning tanks ������������� Vessel contains two fuel tanks that are adjacent to each other and adjacent to subject void tank ������������� Fuel tanks each hold 6225 gallons and are about 8� x 13� each ������������� Replace hydro pneumatic pump tanks ������������� One for freshwater tank � 20 gallon � approx. 26� tall x 16� wide Model LPT20 or equivalent ������������� One for wash water tank � approx. 50 gallon � approx. 30� tall x 22� wide ������������� Repair leak in lube oil tank ������������� Contractor required to store oil during repairs and pump back onto boat ������������� Repair leak in stern void ������������� Crop and renew 18� x 18� section of plate Crane Barge 6704 Repairs ������������� Provide 120-130-gauge readings ������������� Gauge the barge on bottom of the hull at 8 ft intervals lengthways and 8 ft intervals sideways ������������� Gauge at 8 ft intervals lengthways along both knuckles and at 6 inches below the waterline. ������������� Crop and renew 4� x 8� section of plate centered at leak ������������� Gauge 4 ft section on either side of area being cropped at 1 ft intervals ������������� Barge contains lead paint Authority permitting other than full and open competition for this requirement is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). A copy of the Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition is attached. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) and no solicitation is available for this procurement. Nevertheless, any firm or individual that believes it is capable of meeting the Vicksburg District's requirements described herein may submit a capability statement, which, if received by 12:00 PM CST on Tuesday, 11�May 2021, will be considered. Responses to this posting must be submitted via e-mail, no phone calls will be accepted. A determination not to compete the described BPA based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government.
