- Description
- Amendment (dated 5/6/2021) to subject RFI: This amendment is issued as follows: Replace this sentence: DLA requests domestic manufacturing companies (NOT distributors) with the current capability to manufacture the following items submit a response by 12:00PM EDT Wednesday, May 12th, 2021. With this sentence: DLA requests companies with the current capability to supply domestically manufactured items, and submit a response by 12:00PM EDT Wednesday, May 12th, 2021. The following clarifications apply to subject RFI: The six PPE items do not all have to be from one Manufacturer; request forone Vendor to supply all items and various Manufacturers are acceptable. The Vendor does not have to be the Manufacturer, but the Agency is seeking (via this RFI) domestically manufactured items. The pricing tab of the excel sheet shows the estimated 5 year quantities for each item. The quantities from the word document (chart labeled Item/Product Description/Initial Order Quantities) are estimated 90-day quantities, which may also be the quantity required for each item for the initial order(s). Part/model numbers are not provided for this RFI. We hope to get more clarity on specs if this RFI results in a solicitation; for now, all we have is contained in the RFI. If this RFI results in a solicitation, an acquisition strategy will be developed which takes the capabilities of small businesses into consideration. Original RFI description below: Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support, Procurement Process Support Directorate, is conducting market research to understand the domestic industrial bases capabilities for supporting up to a five-year personal protective equipment (PPE) safety stock that guarantees access to critical PPE in a timely manner; this safety stock with be used to facilitate a speedy and effective response in confronting future pandemics and other crisis-level events. Support for surge requirements may also be required. Its important to note that some of these items have shelf-life requirements, so DLA does not want to provide material with expired or significantly degraded shelf-life to its customers. This RFI is seeking information for domestic items only. DLA is seeking responses from firms who can meet the FULL potential requirement (i.e.: all or none). In addition, Vendors are also requested to complete the Excel attachment to this RFI, which includes two tabs (Vendor Input Tab and Pricing Tab) for completion. Responses which do not address the complete listing of items or complete the requested Excel spreadsheets will not be used as part of this market research. Please see attached word document and excel file.
