- Description
- Under this contract JHU/APL shall provide research and development for Air Force applications of engineering, analysis, design and development that are relevant to AFRL/RY as specified in each task order. Specific tasks to be performed under this contract must be in at least one of the core competencies in Paragraphs 1.1 to 1.8. As a result of performing the previous core competencies, ancillary and directly related activities may be needed for the efficient completion of a task order. These activities are incidental to and directly related to the individual task orders. JHU/APL shall furnish the necessary facilities, materials, and professional engineering and technical personnel, together with adequate administrative and management personnel, for both on-and/or off-site activities. Task orders may include the following representational examples of work to be performed under specific task orders (1) Science and technology evaluation and assessment. (2) Application of sensor technology to new system concepts and operational needs. (3) Technology transfer. (4) System architectures. (5) System performance and cost. (6) Development engineering. (7) Systems engineering. (8) Rapid prototyping (hardware and software). (9) Systems integration. (10) Wargaming/exercise/demonstration. (11) Hardware and software design engineering. (12) Classified and unclassified experimentation. (13) Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis development, evaluation, execution, and analysis. (14) Test and evaluation of new and emerging technologies. (15) Instantiating enabling concepts (from breadboards to air/space-craft). (16) Capability Review and Risk Assessment process. (17) Military Utility Assessments. (18) Special studies. Operations and Maintenance (O&M) work may be required to perform required upgrades, system calibrations, and repairs in order to ensure technology refreshment, improve reliability, improve maintainability, reduce cost, and add minor performance enhancements. The primary flight testing tasks will cover the installation/integration of any hardware and software onto a flight test aircraft which may be provided by a third party. The O&M requirement and tasks for flight testing will be determined on a Task Order basis. This effort is not fixed price nor was it competitive. A redacted J&A will be posted shortly after the award notice.
