- Description
- WHS AD seeks responses from all interested firms, particularly small business firms, to include small businesses in all socio-economic categories.� Successful firms must demonstrate in their response to this notice the ability to provide the following: PFPA/PPD intends to establish an add-on to their current Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for the acquisition of selected, and tested (to include green dogs) explosive detection and patrol canines � as a multiple award BPA.��� The contractor shall provide canines that pass PFPA/PPD assessment and selection criteria for breed, physical appearance, weight and health standards.� The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, equipment, gear, training aids, tools, materials, supervision, transportation, fulfilment of training for selected canines and other items/services as necessary to facilitate the procurement of canines for PFPA/PPD.� Note that a full medical examination will be conducted within 30 days of PFPA/PPD picking up the canines to include X-Rays, bloodwork, urine and fecal exams, and inoculation records.� The contractor shall provide medical records that result from medical examinations in both hard and electronic forms.� The contractor facility must be located within a 400 mile radius of the Pentagon.� The contractor shall provide the following canine acquisition services when necessary: Single-Purpose Explosive Canines -- shall have the capacity for explosive odor recognition capable of forensic explosive detection for area, route, vehicle, and building clearance. Dual-Purpose Explosive Detection/Patrol Canines -- shall be capable of being trained for patrol and explosive detection.� Single-Purpose Person Borne Improvised Explosive Device (PBIED) Detection Canines -- shall be of a sporting breed with strong hunt and drive characteristics.� Canines shall be capable of being trained to detect PBIEDs and vapor wake. Dual-Purpose Narcotics Detection/Patrol Canines -- shall be capable of being trained for patrol and narcotics detection. See Attached Sources Sought for more information.
