Description
INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 5, intends to enter into a sole source procurement for a (patient Gowns) for the Washington DC VA Medical Center (688), 50 Irving St NW, Washington DC 20422. In accordance with Single Source Awards IAW FAR 13.106-1, the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price purchase order to (vendor) Company Name: Standard Textile Co., Inc Dun: 006999858 Address: 1 Knollcrest Dr Cincinnati, OH 45237 Phone: 800-999-0400 The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is (313310) and the Business Size Standard is (1000) employees. It is the Government s belief that This requirement is for the acquisition of There is a nationwide shortage of PPE. Vendor s Quote is equal to IGCE and the vendor can meet the delivery date deadline. The current market conditions are themselves a barrier to competition, while there are many vendors that sell the items on the VA critical PPE list, most are out of stock. VA will continue to monitor the current market conditions to determine the best method to overcome barriers to competition in the future. At the present time we are following leads and awarding contracts when we find acceptable stock that is available for a quick delivery making these awards based on urgency. The VA will continue to request offers from as many potential sources as is practicable under the circumstances and as the market conditions change and become more stable VA will comply with full and open competition.
