THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.� USDA-ARS in Parlier,CA intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) with Life Technologies Corporation 5791 Van Allen Way Carlsbad, CA 92008 for a Service Agreement for 3500XL Genetic Analyzer, Serial# 30374-01. The requirement is for a 12-month service contract with 3 options years, that must provide the following: Must provide on-site response within three business days, Monday � Friday, 8am to 5pm. Must include Parts, Labor, and Travel for remedial repairs. No charge for planned maintenance visits. Priority telephone and email access to instrument technical support.� All work must be performed by Life Technologies Certified Technicians. Remote Monitoring and DX Service, which provides for notification to customer of instrument failures or errors that are reported by AB�s Remote Monitoring Software. The Sole Source Determination is based on FAR 6.302-1-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes, and no solicitation package is available.� However, firms that believe they can fully meet the government�s requirements may submit substantiating documentation in writing to the buyer via email Derek.Celedon@usda.gov within 7 days after publication of this synopsis.� Such documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.� A determination by the government not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely with the discretion of the government.� Oral communication is not acceptable in response to this notice.
