- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 �Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,� as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-2050143 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2021-02, Effective 11/23/2020. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing with a small business size standard of 1000 employees. The acquisition is being competed with a small business set-aside. This is a BRAND NAME requirement, no substitutions. Description of the Requirement: The Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases (LPD) conducts basic and applied research on the prevention control, and treatment of a variety of parasitic and bacterial diseases of global importance. The mission of the Systems Genomics Section at the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of NIAID/NIH has been to use comparative genomics, evolutionary biology, and systems biology techniques to generate critical insight about host-pathogen interactions. The Li-Cor Odyssey Fc Imaging System Data Integrity Bundle plays a vital role in Systems Genomics Section of LPD. We need this gel doc to read DNA gels, protein gels and the results from western blots. This particular reader is necessary because it is able to quantify the concentration of protein gels which is becoming the industry standard. Other gel imagers are only able to image but this is able image and quantify.
