Description
THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION SYNOPSIS.� THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS.� THIS NOTICE WILL BE POSTED FOR A MINIMUM OF 15 DAYS PRIOR TO POSTING OF THE SOLICITATION.� The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates issuance of solicitation 15B31421B00000001 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Repair Roofing Hurricane at Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Tallahassee. FCI Tallahassee is a federal correctional facility located at 501 Capital Circle N.E., Tallahassee, FL 32301.� The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials and labor for the complete construction of the work.� A brief description of the work is as follows: The institution experienced storm damage to roofing systems of multiple structures (Administration Building/G-Unit, Utility� � � � Building, S.H.U./R&D Building, A-Unit C-Unit and D-Unit Dormitories, Education Building).� The structures� roofing system design consists of hip roofs and flat, single ply membrane roofs, or a combination of the two. The roofing systems on most of the buildings were replaced in 2004 � 2005. Various components of the roofing systems were damaged and will require prior on-site assessment.� The total square footage of the work is approximately 83,760. The performance period for the project will be 217 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project is between $250,000 and $500,000.� (NOTE: This range is 1 of 8 mandatory ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range.� It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.) The contract award price is subject to available funding and a determination of fair and reasonable pricing. The solicitation document (with all associated attachments) will be posted on approximately December 28, 2020 or later.� The solicitation will be distributed solely through beta.SAM.gov.� Hard copies of the solicitation will not be made available.� The website provides download instructions.� Access to any access controlled attachments will require an active beta.SAM.gov vendor registration (log in).� If you encounter problems accessing those documents, please contact the Federal Service Desk at 866-606-8220.� All future information about this solicitation, including any amendments, will also be distributed solely through this website.� Interested parties are responsible for continuously monitoring this website to ensure that they have the most recent information about this proposed contract action. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238160 with a corresponding small business size standard of $16.5 million. IMPORTANT:� Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must be registered at beta.SAM.gov.� This is a 100 percent small business set-aside.� In order to qualify for award, your business size metrics information entered in your registration must be less than or equal to the size standard specified above (see provision 52.219-1 in the Representations & Certifications section of your registration and view the table therein listing NAICS codes and your indicated business size relative to the assigned NAICS code above). Each bidder�s beta.SAM.gov registration will be reviewed to confirm that your business size meets the small business size standard requirement.� All bidders are urged to review their SAM registration to confirm whether you are considered a small business for the specific assigned NAICS code above. This synopsis is intended only for those who would be competing for a single Prime contract with the BOP.� The BOP does not award subcontracts.� Subcontracts (if applicable/necessary) are the responsibility of the Prime contractor.� The BOP has no privity of contract with subcontractors.
