Description
The following information is an excerpt taken from the procurement Statement of Work: NWIHCS Police Services requests the replacement of the current, outdated, analog camera system for the Omaha and Grand Island locations. The recommendation is to replace the current system with a High Definition (HD) Network Video Recording (NVR) System that will process and store video from HD Internet Protocol (IP) Video Cameras. The replacement system will also include Video Management Software (VMS), Power Over Ethernet (POE) Network Switches with Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) that will provide crisp, uninterrupted power to the cameras and route video to the NVRs over a newly provided Fiber Optic Cable Infrastructure which will need to be installed between IT closets and the IT server room. This proposal requires installation of 182 new HD IP cameras in Omaha and 53 in Grand Island with all other miscellaneous parts and labor necessary for the installation of this system. We are also requesting Network Archival Storage (NAS) Servers at each location to provide 90 days of video storage capability in a mirrored raid10 configuration. Additionally, we are also requesting all the existing cameras, wiring, and components be removed and disposed of. Any networked portions of the current system or any components with video information stored on hard drives will be removed by biomed staff and turned in appropriately. The replacement and installation of this requisition within NWIHCS is necessary to provide a safer and more secure environment. This replacement will allow Police Dispatchers and Police Officers better visual coverage over major portions of the NWIHCS, keeping the Veterans, along with property, safe and secure while decreasing the amount of time and money attempting to piece together events before and/or after an incident should a crime arise. The current analog camera system cannot provide these things and does not store more than a week s worth of video. It also does not provide the reliability a fewer failure points that the requested new system proposes and can no longer be upgraded feasibly. For additional information, see the attached Request for Information document.
