- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/National Environmental Satellite Data Information Service (NESDIS)/ Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO)/Satellite Information Acquisition Division (SIAD), intends to award on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 13.501(a), 41 U.S.C. 1901), based on only one responsible source, where no other supplies of services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed source is LEO Labs, Inc. The Office of Satellite and Product Operations (OSPO) is mandated to protect its high-valued satellite assets that support the Department of Commerces Primary Mission Essential Functions (PMEFs) to provide critical Environmental weather data to support weather forecasting. As space debris continues to increase in OSPOs satellite operating environment, the OSPO engineering team requires improved conjunction assessment services in low-earth orbits to protecting its space assets against collisions with space debris. LEO Labs will provide satellite-tracking data using their phased array radars with conjunction services. No other commercial provider provides this unique satellite protection service for low-earth orbits. The Government anticipates a firm-fixed commercial services purchase order with a base period of one year (12-Months). **NOTICE** This notice is published for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive quotations.
