Description
*** This is a re-issuance of Special Notice Number N65236_SNOTE_0621569C that was originally issued on 13 Nov 2020. This Special Notice is being re-issued to correct the Frequency Range specification from 2.9 3.7 MHz to 2.9 3.7 GHz.*** Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic is seeking information on a commercially-available, S-Band Amplifier. The S-Band Amplifier must be capable of meeting the performance specifications below. The highest emphasis is on output power, duty cycle, and size. There is also high emphasis on pulse repetition frequency (PRF), voltage/power, communications, RF connectivity, and cooling. Performance Specifications: - Nominal output gain at 1dB compression: 17kW or greater - Input drive for rated power: 0 dBm max (-30 to 0 dBm) with at least 10 dBm input without damage - Duty Cycle: 4%, withstand 15% for 10ms preferred - Size: 19 rack mountable (preferred 36 rack depth and no taller than 19U) - PD: 0.1 to 55 us or better - PRF: up to 10kHz - Voltage/Power: 208V at 50/60Hz (3ph)(Delta desired) - Communications: - Ethernet for faults and engaging amp - DB-9 or similar for Keyline pulse (differential RS-422 levels) - Transmit inhibit safety interlock (open = inhibited, short = TX enabled) - RF Connectivity: - Input RF: N-Type Female From the front panel - Sample RF output (~60-70dB down): N-Type Female From the front panel - RF output reflection port: N-Type Female From the front panel - RF output: WR284 From the front panel - Cooling: Air Cooled - Frequency range: S band preferred (2.9 - 3.7 GHz required) - Pulse droop: 0.5dB over 55us - Pulse overshoot: 3% - Pulse jitter: +/- 2ns - Power Ripple: 0.2dB - Harmonics: -10 dBc - Spurious: -60dBc - RF rise and fall times: 20ns - Residual phase noise: -110 dBc/Hz at 1kHz offset maximum - Input VSWR: 2:1 (50 ohms) - Output VSWR: 2:1 (50 ohms) Review of this information is being performed by NIWC Atlantic, which aims to conduct objective, comparative assessments and validations of commercial S-Band amplifiers to determine if available solutions meet the Governments requirements. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in NIWC Atlantic documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed product information. Specific information Requested: 1. Company information, including name, address. 2. Whether company is a manufacturer or distributor. 3. Point of contact for follow-up information, including phone number and e-mail address. 4. Product name and general description of features. 5. Detailed product information demonstrating compliance with performance specifications identified above. 6. Cost information such as purchase price (estimations are acceptable). This same announcement is located on NIWC Atlantic's e-commerce web site: https://e-commerce.sscno.nmci.navy.mil. If you encounter issues regarding access to the website, please contact the webmaster. Submit responses to the following Government points of contact: Joseph Mills (joseph.w.mills@navy.mil) Jamin Barnett (jamin.barnett@navy.mil) Marlon Jones (Marlon.j.jones@navy.mil) This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. Submission of vendor information constitutes consent to publication of that information in NIWC Atlantic documentation. Submissions are due by noon (EDT) on 27 November 2020.
