Description
Ann Arbor VA Medical System Patient Care & Safety Service (111) Monday, November 23, 2020 2 Statement of Work (SOW) For Patient Lift Hoists for up to 600 lbs. Background The Ann Arbor VA Medical System, Patient Care and Safety Service is requesting to purchase three (3) patient lift hoist for the Emergency Room (ER). The lift hoist is a safe patient handling equipment item that can lift the Veteran patient from an automobile, a chair, the floor, or bed. The lift can be used for Veteran patients weighing up to 600 pounds. Frequently Veteran patients with limited mobility drive or are driven to the Emergency Department and are not able to get out of the automobile independently and require staff assistance. This places the staff at risk for injury. A patient lift hoist is necessary to safely remove a Veteran patient from their automobile safely. Scope The agency expects to purchase three (3) patient lift hoists that can be used for Veterans weighing up to 600 pounds, to remove them from their car, bed, or lift them off the floor. Requirements The patient lift hoist must be able to go as low as 4.5 inches off the ground, allowing the lift to be used to lift a Veteran patient that has fallen out of a bed. A lift that goes as low as 4.5 inches from the ground can be used with the low beds in our Community Living Center. The lift hoist must be motorized and have a curved boom arm to allow for extracting Veteran patients from a small vehicle. The Veteran patient lift hoist must be able to lift patients weighting up to 600 pounds. Measurements Turntable rear wheels powered independent drive wheels pivot up to 90 degrees inward/ outward enabling the operator to turn the lift easily and maneuver with precise direction. Rechargeable lithium battery operated. Sling bar width of 23.6 in.; base width inner dimensions of 25.6-41.3 in., base width outer dimensions of 29.5 in -45.2 in.
