SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR QUOTATION BUT FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY! This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) anticipates a requirement that is being considered under a small business set-aside program in accordance with FAR 19.502-2(a). The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed is 811219. The size standard for that NAICS is $20.5M. Requirement Details: The USAFA Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Surgery and Dental Departments have a firm fixed price (FFP) requirement for a Surgical Instrument Maintenance Program (SIMP). An outline of the SIMP is as follows: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, technical literature, manufacturer repair requirements/manuals, transportations and other items and services necessary to provide SIMP as defined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The contractor shall track the frequency of repair for all surgical and dental instruments in order to report repair trends to the Government. The contractor shall provide support consistent with the policies and standards of the customer and its governing authority (e.g., Department of Defense, Department of the Air Force, USAF Academy, 10th Air Base Wing, Joint Commission (JC) and American Association of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)). On-site services include three maintenance visits, which entails cleaning, sharpening, and repair of all surgical instruments, as well as a comprehensive education program. Off-site maintenance services include repair/replacement of surgical/dental instruments, including power cords, orthopedic power drills and saws, endoscopic and arthroscopic scopes costing $2,000 or less and loaner equipment.
