Description
Call for Participants CSW Industry Range Day Product Director Crew Served Weapons (PdD CSW) is hosting an invitation-only, Industry Range Day(s) at Fort Benning, GA, from July 13 - 15, 2021 to both (1) assess current state of technologies as well as (2) provide Soldier feedback to Industry partners on their crew-served weapon systems and enablers. The expanded purpose is two-fold: inform US Army requirement writers of the current and developing capabilities of the Industrial base, as well as provide vendor partners the opportunity to showcase new, innovative, enabling technologies with access to Soldiers to solicit feedback on human factor implications of their weapon systems and enablers. These Industry Range Day(s) are an opportunity for Industry partners to obtain direct customer feedback from Soldiers. The focus of this event should support the Armys portfolio of small and medium caliber weapons (5.56mm through 50mm), fire control, optics, remote weapons stations, suppressors, powered rails, barrel life enhancements, externally powered systems, recoilless rifles, ammunition, or other accessories. Participating vendors can choose to either host a static display, provide company representatives to demonstrate and live fire vendor-provided weapon systems, or demonstrate and facilitate select Soldiers and Army representatives to fire vendor weapons systems. In addition to Soldier feedback, these Industry Range Day(s) present an opportunity for vendors to present their hardware to Stakeholders including, but not limited to, PEO Soldier, PM Soldier Lethality (PM SL), PdD CSW, Maneuver - Capability Development Integration Directorate (M-CDID), Maneuver Requirements Division (MRD), Army Futures Command (AFC), Soldier Lethality Cross Functional Team (SL CFT), Combat Capabilities Development Command - Armaments Center (DEVCOM-AC), and various Platform PMs. For companies desiring to participate, e-mail a one-slide PowerPoint presentation (format attached) highlighting the equipment, capability gap, technical overview, and company points of contact to be considered for an invite as well as any additional supporting information to the Point of Contact identified below. The Government reserves the right to invite or revoke vendor invitations to this event. Vendor information must be submitted by March 17, 2021 to be considered for an invitation to participate. Further guidance, maps, instructions, and timelines will be provided to vendors chosen to participate. General scheme of maneuver includes: Vendors conducting a static display will be located outdoors at Fort Benning; Vendors firing medium and small caliber weapon systems/enablers will be located on a Fort Benning range; Vendors interested in live firing their products must provide their own ammunition and will be provided a point of contact for coordination; Army Program Managers and requirement writers will move among the vendors to discuss capability gaps, vendor capabilities, development, etc; A team of Soldiers, representative of the Close Combat Force, will be provided to vendors for at least 20 minutes to observe vendor demonstrations, interact with vendor equipment, and provide direct feedback to vendor teams. Vendors should take appropriate action to protect their Intellectual Property, to include the use of tents. Vendors will not be authorized to move along firing lines or static displays to observe other vendor demonstrations. Vendors violating the grounds rules, to include COVID-19 mitigation procedures, will be removed from the event. No award is intended as a result of these Industry Range Day(s) nor does the Government intend to pay for any information received. Any response to Industry Day(s) is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding award. There are no vendor costs to participate in this event. The Government will not be responsible for any expense incurred by a vendor's decision to participate in the Industry Range Day(s). All travel and other associated costs are to be assumed by the interested vendor. A lack of attendance to the Industry Range Day(s) does not preclude participation in any future solicitations, if any are issued.
