Description
This Special Announcement is posted to inform Industry of questions received by an interrested party and the government responses. 1. Will this be a Best Value or LPTA? The government has not completed acquisition strategy determination. 2. Is the intent to use a GFE GD RBM or should we be providing our own? At this point the government determines it to be GFE 3. Whats the expectation on Ka/Ku operation, would it be as simple as swapping out the feed and RF or is it simultaneous? Intent is for interchangeable feed horn and amplifier assemblies, allowing operations over either Ka or Ku depending on the equipment installed. 4. Is there a requirement to process two separate feeds simultaneously? (Classified and Unclassified?) Requirement is for minimum of two simultaneous satellite transponder broadcasts, both may include unclassified and classified video and file traffic. 5. Are we maintaining the same Environmental conditions or will the requirements increase? Environmental requirements are similar. 6. Is there still a requirement to operate for 4+ hours on a single BA5590 battery? Would that include operating both positioner and RBM with their own battery? No requirement for battery operation. 7. Can we submit more than one potential product? If so, should it be 2 separate responses or a single response? Intent is to maintain the current TGRS baseline. 8. Can you describe the CONOPs for which this system will be used? Capable of being transported from one location to another and communicating from a fixed location (not while on the move). 9. Is the Out-of-band (OOB) Tx meant to be Ku-Band Comsatcom? Or are you looking for an L-Band Comsatcom Reachback? 4/5G/LTE? Is there a preference? OOB uses user provided non-GBS network connections (i.e. NIPRnet). 10. What are the throughput requirements for Reachback? None specified 11. What are the Apps for Reachback? (i.e., Data/Voice/Video/ROIP?) Data over IP network 12. Other than an RBM do we need to provide any other Baseband equipment? Or is the BB equipment GFE? Intent is to maintain the current TGRS baseline.
