- Description
- This is a presolicitation notice only to gauge the interest of potential businesses. The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) Belvoir Division, on behalf of Project Manager Expeditionary Energy & Sustainment Systems intends to award an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity single award production contract for the PPG requirements described in the two attached documents. Description. This action is an IDIQ 5-Year Contract with two one-year options/ordering periods. The contract will be a single award contract for the Platoon Power Generation (PPG). The PPG is a 28 Volt (V) Direct Current (DC) tactical quiet power generation system. The PPG is soldier-borne, with the capability to provide no less than 900 Watts (W) of continuous power in remote environments under extreme climatic conditions. The 900W may be generated by two sub-systems, with each providing no less than 450W. Set-aside Status. 100% Small Business Set-Aside. SEE DRAFT SOW AND PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION DOCUMENT FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ALL THE PPG REQUIREMENTS. Power requirements are a major contributing factor preventing small units from being able to self-sustain for extended periods without resupply. The continued proliferation of power consuming systems at the small unit level, to include networked communication devices, has created an unsustainable burden from a logistics and Soldier load perspective. PPG is the Platoons primary energy producing source for recharging during missions in austere environments where power resupply is limited or non-existent. The PPG will enable small units the capability to operate for forty-eight (48) to seventy-two (72) hours in austere environments without the need to resupply equipment batteries. See attached A02 PPG SOW and A02 PS 6115-0134 Revision 3, Performance Specs for further details of this requirement.
