The VA Bronx Healthcare System currently seeking to purchase reagents for Ion Genestudio S5 prime system for pathology and laboratory medicine testing under the terms of an Indefinite Delivery Quantity (IDIQ). Market research was conducted and determined that ThermoFisher- Life Technologies Corporation is the only vendor capable of providing supplies necessary that meet the requirements off the Pathology and Laboratory Service which must be compliant with Ion Genestudio S5 prime system. Changing the source of reagents would mean altering the validity of the results and would severely impact the capacity of the Pathology and Laboratory Service to perform its required functions up to the required standards. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
